A Lesson in Numbers. . .

I recently got the opportunity to take a large family photo for some friends. . .

I learned that large group shots are hard. Especially with cold little ones. But silly faces lighten things up.

And lots of spring blooming magnolia blossoms make things more fun.

Single persons shots are much easier.  Especially when taken of beautiful faces.

But I am always game for practice and learning.

Ahhh. . .

I so want to be doing this right now. . .

There is nothing better than finding a patch of sunshine to lie in on a quiet afternoon.

PINK

When I was fifteen I swore off pink. . . for ten years.  I had a creepy science teacher who used to rub my shoulder and tell me how good I looked in pink.  So. I. never. wore. it. again. . . for ten years.

During those ten years I had a baby girl.  She got a blue and red bedroom.

She wore green and orange and other colors that weren't pink.

We endured being told how adorable our little boy was--despite the mop of curlycue hair with bows (usually white) and adorable oh-so-girly face.

Then I had another girl.  With a four year old girl who LOVED pink and a new baby girl (whose room I decorated in white and yellow and springy green!) I was fighting a loosing battle.  And I didn't really have the heart to hate pink like I used to.

So I figured. . . If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!

There is just something about pink.

Frog Hunting. . .

We hear their chorus.  They come out when least expected.  Their bright green color blends in with the grass. . . until they start to hop.  Then we are on to them. . .

Mandatory footwear for frog hunting.

The Best of Friends

Signe has several good friends, but she and Grace have an uncanny connection.  They just get each other.  There is no other way to describe it.  I think it's great. . . and I keep trying to capture their friendship in a photo.  I am not sure I am successful, but I know I will keep on trying.

Cute & Capable

I have the best babysitter.  My girls LOVE her. . . I love her.  I have written about her before. Unfortunately she is turning 18 this year and going off to college.  That is very bad. . . at least for me.  For fun one day right before Christmas she had me take pictures of her and her friend (she is the blonde one).  The light was crappy and it was foggy--REALLY foggy, and getting both foggier and darker by the minute.  But none-the-less, I think they turned out cute.

We will be very sad to see her go. . .
