Photography has been a growing passion of mine in recent years. In large part because when I started having children I felt the need to document their lives as they zipped by me. I did not want to forget a moment of it! Then I found taking pictures was just fun. Now I take pictures anytime, anywhere, and of anything.
I make no claims to be a professional--I'm just having fun and thought I'd share.
I went for a walk today with the girls and the dog. Luckily I remembered to grab the camera and snap a few pretty pictures of spring blossoms in my neighborhood. At least no one came out to ask why I was taking pictures of their trees and flowers.
There is certainly something magical about the sun shining on the flowers and the bees buzzing all around. My daughter would say the bees don't add to the ambiance, but I find the sound soothing--so long as they keep their distance. This busy bee was too preoccupied to care when I didn't keep mine, however:
I spent the weekend working in my yard. The sun was shining, the bees were buzzing, and the flower were blooming. I drug the camera out for pictures of the raised vegetable gardens we are putting in, but I kept getting distracted by all the pretty flowers. I've missed taking pictures of things other than my kitchen remodel!
I have an obsession white white. And few white things are cuter than little girls in white sundresses. Since we have had some sun lately I have been thinking of where I will get my girls their white sundresses for Easter--they always have white Easter dresses.
Last year they are their four cousins--all girls--had matching white sundresses. We live in different states, but visited Manna's house (grandma) during the summer and happened to all bring the white dresses! So we took loads of pictures of their fresh, clean, little girlieness:
Today we took a walk in the forest. The first time this year--since winter started. It was sad to see how many trees were downed by all the unusual snow we got this year. It made the whole forest feel more open.
The only thing that would have made these pictures better would be blue skies and little more light--sadly we had both those things for the last several days but I was either doing homework, rug shopping or working in my yard.
My camera is beckoning me. I have not taken pictures for fun in weeks. All my pictures of late have been of my house projects. But these last mornings have been frosty and there is something lovely about the world all dusted with crystals. I did not go out early enough to get any really good crystals on glass, but I took a few of my bejeweled plants.
I need to get out more. . . with my camera in tow.
